Dorothy Baker

An intriguing figure of 20th century literature, with decent success during her lifetime, and an enduring interest in her work now. Married to a man all her life, she wrote lesbian characters, overtly or suggestively, in pretty much every book she wrote. Her interest in queer women, wherever it came from, led her to explore the complexities of her characters in various lights, positive and not so much, making for a unique reading experience.
