Kathy Acker was far from an unruly, hap-hazardous writer. What she did was extremely considered: she constantly referenced canonical and non canonical authors in her work, and engaged with them through literary experimentation, staying true to her punk aesthetics and values. She inscribed herself in literary history, and then upended it.
